SUB : REIMBURSEMENT OF NEWSPAPER SUBSCRIPTION TO OFFICERS

 

REF : Our Circulars 196/88 Dt.1-8-1988, 395/91 dt.27-11-91 and 292/92 dt.17-9-92

 

 

In the recently held Joint Conference with the representatives of Canara Bank’s Officers’ Association it has been agreed to permit reimbursement of Subscription to Officers for one National/Regional/Financial Daily subject to the following guidelines:

 

1.        Reimbursement will be permitted to Officers to subscribe to either a newspaper/  Business  Magazines viz., Business India, Business World, Business Today.

 

2.      To those Officers who subscribe to a newspaper, reimbursement will be restricted   to  only one National/Regional/Financial daily (without air surcharge). Out of the involved for purchase of  National/Regional/Financial daily 20% has to be recovered towards sale of old newspapers, rounded off to the lower rupee, at the time of  paying the bill.

The procedure for reimbursement of subscription to newspapers is as contained in our  Circular No.196/88 dated 1-8-1988 and 292/92 dt.17-9-92.

 

3.        Those Officers who opt for  purchase of business magazines in lieu of newspaper  shall be reimbursed actual cost of magazine, not exceeding Rs.60/-pm. The Officers will be permitted to purchase more than one magazine as stated above within the entitlement of Rs.60/-p.m.

 

4.       This facility will be effective from January 2002.

 

5.            Necessary vouchers in support of reimbursement shall be obtained and perused by the sanctioning authority.

 

All other terms and conditions conveyed vide our Circulars cited above will be applicable.
