SUB: STAFF WELFARE MEASURES – 2005-2006 ………………
The schemes under Staff Welfare Measures for year 2005-06 was circulated vide Memo No. 63/2005 (Attached Below) dated 17-10-2005 and branches / offices were informed about the schemes available for the year 2005-06.
We are now pleased to inform that the following schemes are also permitted by the Board for the year 2005-06 :
a. All employees above 40 years of age will be eligible to claim reimbursement towards medical check up undergone for self and for spouse during the year 2005-06. The quantum of reimbursement for self shall be actual expenses or Rs.1000/- whichever is lower and in case of self and spouse reimbursement shall be restricted to actual expenses or Rs.1500/- whichever is lower. For claiming reimbursement for spouse, the employee has to necessarily undergo medical check up for self also.
b. At present reimbursement of educational expenses is restricted to one claim per employee either for self or for one child. The same has now been modified so that, the reimbursement of education expenses will be available to employees for 2 eligible members viz., for self or children put together at the following rates :
Nursery : Rs. 750/- LKG to X Std : Rs.1000/- XI Std and above : Rs.1500/- Professional Courses : Rs.2500/-
The above two schemes shall cover the period from 1-4-2005 to 31-3-2006.
There shall be no change with regard to other terms and conditions and procedures for claiming reimbursement. Branches / offices are requested to consider claims of the employees received in this regard in terms of the guidelines contained in our Memo No.45/2002, 69/2003 & 55/2004. The reimbursement permitted, shall be debited to General Charges - Employees Welfare Schemes Expenses.
This may be circulated amongst all the employees of the Bank.

MODIFICATIONS AS MENTIONED BELOW) 2.
AWARD FOR CHILDREN OF SUB-STAFF EMPLOYEES. 3.
INCENTIVE FOR EXCELLENCE IN EDUCATION. 4.
SCHEME FOR SUBSIDY FOR PURCHASE OF THE BOOK “THE BANKING
ODYSSEY –
THE STORY OF CANARA BANK”. 5.
DEATH RELIEF SCHEME. 6.
SCHEME FOR REIMBURSEMENT OF HOSPITALISATION EXPENSES. 7.
REIMBURSEMENT OF EXPENSES INCURRED BY EXECUTIVES TOWARDS
MEDICLAIM. 8.
FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE TO EMPLOYEES WHO ARE ON LOSS OF PAY ON
ACCOUNT OF HOSPITALISATION 9.
INCENTIVE FOR PROMOTION OF SMALL FAMILY NORMS. 10.
RELIEF TO PHYSICALLY HANDICAPPED EMPLOYEES FOR PURCHASE OF
CRUTCHES AND OTHER ACCESSORIES. 11.
REIMBURSEMENT OF EXPENSES INCURRED TOWARDS PURCHASE OF
HEARING AID 12.
PRESENTING MEMENTOS TO RETIRING EMPLOYEES ON
SUPERANNUATION 13.
REIMBURSEMENT OF MEDICAL EXPENSES INCURRED BY RETIRED
EMPLOYEES. REIMBURSEMENT
OF EDUCATIONAL EXPENSES : It
has been decided that reimbursement shall be for one child of an employee for
the year 2005-06. Further, where both parents are employees of our Bank,
only one among them can claim reimbursement of educational expenses for one
child. Except the above, there is no change as to the quantum and procedure for
claiming reimbursement under the above head of Reimbursement of Educational
Expenses. ALL
BRANCHES/OFFICES ARE REQUESTED TO NOTE THAT THE SCHEMES UNDER 1 TO 13 MENTIONED
ABOVE ONLY ARE AVAILABLE FOR REIMBURSEMENT UNDER STAFF WELFARE MEASURES AND THE
TERMS/ CONDITIONS AND PROCEDURES FOR SUCH SCHEMES STIPULATED FOR CLAIMING
REIMBURSEMENT UNDER EACH SCHEME AS PER THE EARLIER MEMOS Nos.45/2002, 69/2003
AND 55/2004 SHALL REMAIN UNCHANGED. Branches/Offices
have to keep proper records/vouchers in respect of reimbursements permitted
under the Schemes and the same shall be made available to the Inspecting
Officers for verification during the Inspection. All
the above schemes will be in force for the period from 01.04.2005 to 31.03.2006.
Thereafter, the schemes shall stand automatically lapsed. This
may be circulated amongst all the employees of the Bank. K.
