All Members:

Dear Friends,

ALL INDIA PROTEST ACTION STRIKE – 6th & 7th AUGUST 2009

As decided in the UFBU meeting held on 17.06.2009, Presidents and General Secretaries of nine constituents of UFBU met Sri M V Nair, IBA Chairman on 14.07.2009 to express the displeasure on IBA reducing the offer on salary revision from 17.5% to 15% and demanded immediate resumption of talks for expeditious settlement.

The IBA Chairman informed the delegation that, they are acting as per the brief received from the Government and maintained their stand of 15% on Salary Revision.

In view of the stalemate, the UFBU met and decided that the situation warrants serious agitational programmes. Accordingly the UFBU gave a call for 2 days All India Protest Action on 6th and 7th August 2009 demanding resumption of talks and expeditious settlement of our demands, to be followed by further intensified and continuous strike actions.

Friends, this situation has been created by the IBA and the Government. The Govt. challenge should be accepted in the right earnest and a befitting reply should be given to the authorities concerned.

Realizing the gravity of the situation it is necessary for us to move as one man and push back the negative development for realization of our long pending demands.

DEMANDING

RESUME TALKS AND EXPEDITE SETTLEMENT

ACTION PROGRAMME

DISPROPORTIONATE PUNISHMENTS

There are reports of disproportionate punishments being awarded to Officers in the Bank. CBOA has formed a committee of CNT members to study the whole concept and bring forth the issue in the forthcoming Joint Conference. We assure our members that justice shall be done in all such cases by ensuring a detailed discussion on the issue with the management.

                                                                        Yours Sincerely,
