Pursooku'n( peaceful) lagti hai kitni jheel ke paani pe but( swan) /pairo'n ki betaabiya'n paani ke ander dekhiye.
Its English translation is epistled below:
A swan looks so peaceful on the surface of water but look at the restless feet under the surface.
After successful conclusion of CBOA biennial held at Bangalore from 15th to 17th November, 2010 our CBOA teams headed to respective destinations with renewed pledge to restore the old glory both to Canara Bank and Canara Bank Officers' Association. Our mission continues unabated.
I have toured the following places to interact with the membership to personally assess their difficulties, and understand their expectations and suggestions for better functioning of the CBOA & Our CANARA BANK.
On 4 & 5TH December, 2010 after seeking blessings and good wishes from our Chairman & Managing Director Sri S.Raman, I started my journey from the land of Patliputra Patna and inter acted with more than 450 officers of our Bank. I am personally grateful to the Sri Krishna Shankar Singh,Vice-President and his dedicated team which conducted the general meetings at Patna & Muzzaffarpur on 4th & 5th December 2010.The meetings attracted wide print and media coverage.
On 11th & 12th December, 2010 Sri Krishna Kumar Regional Secretary Chennai took lead for tour of Chennai branches/Offices under the able leadership of Sri GV Manimaran Our Senior Vice President and now our Officer Director on Canara Bank Board.
This was followed by healthy interaction at Joint Regional Committee meeting of Chennai and Trichy Regions.
On 14th December, 2010 Sri GV Manimaran Our Senior Vice President was nominated as Officer-Director on the board of our Bank, thus we regained our participative rights at the Board level.
We had very useful interaction with our Central leaders at Mumbai on 7th January, 2011. Sri Susheel L Patil our DGS from Pune, Sri RR Bagale Regional Secretary Pune arranged mammoth meeting with our members of Pune region on 22nd December, 2010. Sri RM Joshi Vice President accompanied the undersigned to Pune.
On 23.12.10 Sri G V Manimaran Our Senior Vice President along with our Central Liaison Shri A N Krishnamurthy.Joint General Secretary effectively represented Officers issues on behalf of CBOA before the Parliamentary Committee.
On 8th January, 2011 Sri Rajesh Bakshi Regional Secretary Delhi arranged warm welcome in honour of Sri GV Manimaran Our Senior Vice President and Officer Director on Canara Bank Board at Delhi under the able leadership of one and only Sardar Rajinder Singh JI Reehal our Joint General Secretary.
On 11th December, 2010 Sri Atul Kapur Vice President and his team in unique show of solidarity conducted felicitations to honour Sri GV Manimaran Our Senior Vice President on his appointment as Officer Director. More than 500+ Officers from Punjab, Haryana, Himachal States participated in the meeting addressed by Sri Raman Anand Organising General Secretary, Sri Atul Kapur Vice President, Sri Ashwani Juneja DGS Karnal. Officer Director Sri GV Manimaran our Senior Vice President & General Secretary addressed the CBOA members and inter acted with the members.
Our enthusiastic teams from all regions ensured most of the promote officers joined CBOA.
Of the 700+ directly recruited Probationary Officers we could enroll 100 % to CBOA fold. Kudos to our dedicated teams that worked round the clock.
On January 22nd, 2011 grand felicitations function was organised at Chennai with active participation of AIBOC leaders of the State, Present and past executives of our Bank, leaders & members from neighboring regions, Sri AN Krishnamurthy our Joint General Secretary along with central leaders from Bangalore, Sri Balakrishan our Organising General Secretary from Madurai & the under signed also addressed the large Army of CBOA soldiers.
On 29.01.2011 Sri SK Khatua Regional Secretary and his team led by Sri Gopal Patnaik Joint General Secretary arranged CBOA meeting which was addressed by Chairman Sri Rasupandy, President Sri KRS Murthy and General Secretary. The meeting was also attended by the Central leaders of CBOA from all regions who were delegates to AIBOC Triennial Conference.
Sri RK Avasthi General Secretary, Sri GV Manimaran Senior Vice President, Sri CB Prabhakar Joint General Secretary, Sri AN Krishnamurthy Joint General Secretary, Smt Pushpa G Kumar Assistant General Secretary were unanimously elected as Senior Vice President, Joint General Secretary, Deputy General Secretary, EC member and Deputy General Secretary of All India Bank Officers Confederation, respectively.
On12th February, 2011 gigantic gathering of Officers from Mangalore Region was organised under the able leadership of our Joint General Secretary Sri CB Prabhakar who was ably assisted by Regional Secretary Sri AS Bhat, Sri Laxmikant Nayak CC Member & all regional leaders. Regional Secretary Sri AS Bhat, Joint General Secretary Sri CB Prabhakar, Sri GV Manimaran Our Senior Vice President & Officer Director & General Secretary addressed the members from Mangalore Region followed by intense interaction.
On 19.02.2011 Tamil Nadu Agriculture University Alumni Association organised monumental gathering to render felicitations in honour of Sri GV Manimaran Our Senior Vice President on his appointment as Officer Director. General Secretary CBOA, Deputy General Manager Coimbatore were the nominated speakers along with other distinguished personalities from IPS, IAS and Senior Faculty of the TNAU.
Sri R Nandagopal Regional Secretary Coimbatore, Sri Easwaran CC member ably led by Organising General Secretary Sri J Vangamudi organised visits to local branches and Circle Office on 19.02.2011. The very next day the General Secretary along with Sri GV Manimaran inaugurated health check up camp organised at Apollo Clinic Coimbatore.
We also had attended AIBOC working committee meeting at Bangalore. Shri G V Manimaran our senior Vice-President,Shri A N Krishnamurthy,Joint General Secretary & undersigned visited our HO executives and had fruitful discussions with Sri Jagdish Pai our Executive Director.
At the recently concluded Joint Conference held at HO Bangalore we had very positive interaction with the Bank. Our Chairman & Managing Director blessed the initiation of the Joint Conference with his disarming personality and charming & captivating manners and rekindled our passions for restoring the glory of Bank. We have in all sincere earnest raised all issues with the Bank. The response of Bank team led by Sri Arun K Nahar General Manager Personnel Wing, HO is compatible, clear and credible. We all look forward to healthy, happy and harmonious working relationship with our Bank to resolve our member’s grievances and meet their genuine aspirations. I sincerely appreciate the effective presentations by our Central Liaison Sri AN Krishnamurthy,Joint General Secretary and active support of all our Central Negotiating Team mates during the Joint Conference.
